The Academy of Hockey



The hockey academy is an institution that is focus on providing all interested individuals of the sport several programs to become a professional or also to stay in shape. The academy of hockey is operated by various individuals who have spent most of their lives playing this sport.

The history of hockey academy comes back to 1272 BC to Egypt where several researchers found old carvings that feature teams with a projectile and sticks. In the Ancient Greece they played a game called Keretizein and in China they played a game called Beikou. Both games listed were very similar to modern hockey. By the 19th century several forms of historic games came up defining to hockey of today. Several organizations dedicated to the regulations and rules of this sport became to form.

Hockey is a team sport in which two teams play against each other with the mission to insert a puck or ball into the opponent's goal. This sport is divided in several subtypes which are the following: 1- Field hockey, 2- Ice hockey, 3- Inline hockey, 4- Roller hockey, 5- Street hockey and 6 -Sledge hockey. The hockey academy instructs its students with the subtypes of the sport. This sport academy organizes several hockey tournaments for the improvement of their student's skills. Nowadays there are several hockey leagues around the world that are categorized from professional to amateur. The most popular league of the sport is known as the National Hockey League (NHL). The hockey gear for the players varies depending on the subtype of the sport. Some of the gear that is used in all subtypes of the sport are the following: Helmet, stick, mouthguard, gloves, skates, etc.
